ITDRC staff and volunteers monitored and mobilized resources ahead of Hurricane Beryl’s landfall on the Texas coast on July 8th, 2024. Teams established WiFi hotspots and cell phone charging stations around the Houston area to support survivors and relief operations.
Response
Prior to landfall, ITDRC pre-positioned assets and coordinated volunteer deployments. Following the storm, teams rapidly established WiFi hotspots and cell phone charging stations at shelters and community centers across the greater Houston area, providing critical connectivity for displaced residents and first responders.
